Good design never gets old-fashioned. The multi-purpose container, series “MB“, manufactured by BITO-Lagertechnik at Meisenheim/Germany shows proof. Recently, the international storage and order picking provider was awarded the design prize “Busse Longlife Design Award“. This coveted design award is given in recognition of professionally developed and designed quality products. Apart from a product’s efficiency, the prize also honours aspects such as a long service life and sustainability. With this award, organisers and participants alike intend to point out the importance of an environmentally friendly use of natural resources.
A versatile, modular tube system reduces travel routes at assembly workstations and provides easier access to supply stocks.
The scene is the same in many production plants: The new machine has been put into operation, the operators have been trained and are motivated to get started. However, not much later, the verve dies away, because the expected success does not show immediately.
Applicable for use in shelving as well as horizontal and vertical carousels in production and distribution areas, the storage specialist BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH has added 156 mm wide bins to their storage and handling bin series »RK«. With the introduction of 80 mm high RK’s some time ago, this is the second enlargement of the »RK« series. The 156 mm wide bins close the gap between the narrow width option (117 mm) and the broad width option (234 mm).
The new BITO PRO pallet racking system heads the company’s shelving and racking family. With uprights and beams now manufactured to PRO system specifications, the pallet racking product range has been substantially widened and optimised: it is now possible to supply pallet racking geared exactly to specific requirements which at the same time can be produced at a reasonable cost.
Conventional pallet racking systems provide the basis for drive-in pallet racking, carton live storage with pallet buffer stock on top and multi-tier racking with integrated walkways. Of the general developments in the storage industry, and the shelving and racking sector in particular, the trend towards compact high bay racking stands out. Warehouse operators want maximum storage volume occupying the minimum warehouse floorspace.
